As we enter our third week as a nation dealing with a pandemic unlike anything we have ever seen, I want you to know that I am here for you. Many people, including me, have had the life we know as normal flipped on its head. Children are no longer going to school, those among us who are lucky enough to still be employed are mostly working from home, and we are being told that six feet away is close enough.
Our ability to procure food and household supplies has been threatened in a way most of us have never experienced. Toilet paper, disinfectant wipes, hand sanitizer, meat and dairy are all in short supply and we feel vulnerable. I feel vulnerable, but I also choose to feel hopeful. I choose to believe this will end. Life may never be the same, but it will be similar to the life we have known. Science will lead more than political motives and people will choose logic over fear.
In the meantime, and possibly from this point forward, I will be offering counseling services through video chat and telephone. While these new ways of counseling do present some challenges, the good they provide greatly outweighs those challenges. If you are looking for counseling, we can work together to overcome those challenges and create a therapeutic relationship that can help you deal with the stress, sadness, fear, addiction, or conflict in your life. Don’t let the current “stay at home” environment keep you from getting the help that you need.
